Tropical Storm Isaias, which made landfall in North Carolina as a Category 1 hurricane late Monday, has brought heavy rains and strong winds to the mid-Atlantic and East Coast. The storm is responsible for at least six deaths: two people were killed on Tuesday when a tornado spawned by Isaias hit a mobile home park in Bertie County, North Carolina; one person in Pennsylvania was killed when their car was swept away by floodwaters; a person in Delaware died when they were hit by a falling tree branch; and two others died in Maryland and New York City after trees toppled onto their cars. The National Hurricane Center said that as of Tuesday night at 10:50 p.m. ET, the storm's center is about 45 miles southeast of Montreal, with maximum sustained winds of up to 45 mph.
