Jurors continued deliberations on Tuesday in the the murder trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin over the death of George Floyd. Prosecutors and Chauvin's defense each made their closing arguments Monday following a two-week trial over whether Chauvin caused Floyd's death by pressing his knee into the unarmed Black man's neck for nine minutes. Prosecutors said "George Floyd was not a threat" and argued Chauvin was indifferent to his suffering. "This wasn't policing. This was murder," prosecutor Steve Schleicher said. Chauvin's defense, which has argued Floyd died from underlying health problems and drug use, said Chauvin did what any "reasonable officer" would have done in that situation.
