Martin Luther King Jr. was born

Jan. 15, 1973: President Nixon ordered an end to the massive "Christmas bombing" of North Vietnam, as peace talks between the U.S. and Hanoi gathered momentum. A peace treaty would be announced two weeks later, bringing the war to an end.
