New York Post sued for libel over Boston bombing coverage

True story

Two Massachusetts men have filed a defamation suit against the New York Post over a front page cover that falsely named them as suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing.

Before authorities had released the names or photographs of Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the Post ran a front page image and accompanying story of the two men, Salaheddin Barhoum, 16, and Yassine Zaim, 24, with the headline, "Bag Men: Feds seek this duo pictured at Boston Marathon." The lawsuit accuses the Post of libel, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and invasion of privacy. It seeks unspecified damages.

Read our backstory on the Post's cover and the uproar it caused here.
