Hotel of the week: Rock Springs Yurt

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s yurt is just a bare-bones structure, but it’s located on a picturesque ridge that you can get to on your skis.

Jackson Hole, Wyo.

“Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s yurt surpasses any that I’ve ever seen,” said Dina Mishev in The Washington Post. Like other stand-alone ski lodgings of its kind, it’s just a bare-bones structure, but it’s located on a picturesque ridge that you can get to on your skis, rather than by hiking through deep snow. The only toilet is in an outhouse, but there’s a wood-burning stove, a kitchen, and best of all, a “yurtmeister”—who does all the cleaning, arranges a menu for your meals, and will have dinner ready when you return from a long day of skiing. jacksonhole.com/yurt.html; $425 for up to 8 people
