Hotel of the week: The Pig, Brockenhurst, England
Located in a national park southwest of London, The Pig is the latest creation of hotelier Robin Hutson.
Robin Hutson’s latest creation is proof he’s England’s “most inspired hotelier,” said Fiona Duncan in the London Telegraph. Having previously reinvented the idea of the “town hotel,” he’s aiming now to give rural hotels a touch of “sexy-and-shabby chic.” Located two hours southwest of London in the New Forest, a national park, this “deeply comfortable” inn is the standard-bearer. Potted herbs scent the conservatory dining room; mismatched glassware awaits at the bar. And while many hotels have kitchen gardens, few have created such an “imaginative edible paradise” as The Pig’s walled garden.
