“What the f--- is going on?” Joss Stone sings on a new track from music’s latest supergroup, and listeners may wonder the same, said Mikael Wood in Entertainment Weekly. While the first cut’s reggae-inflected sound is fun and loose, it’s perplexing that this “wacky all-star lineup” even exists. That’s because filling out the group alongside Stone are former Eurythmic Dave Stewart, Bollywood composer A.R. Rahman, Bob Marley’s son Damian, and none other than Mick Jagger. On “Unbelievable,” a reggae bounce blends with Bollywood strings, and “you can just make out the ghost of Stewart’s original concept for the project,” said Alexis Petridis in the London Guardian. But even though the stars amiably trade turns at the mike, the project as a whole never quite transcends “a sense of star-studded pointlessness.”
