Gossip: Eliot Spitzer

Eliot Spitzer is returning to public life as a columnist for Slate.com.

Eight months after a prostitution scandal forced him to resign as governor of New York, Eliot Spitzer returned to public life last week as a columnist for Slate.com. Spitzer will be writing regularly about the economy. “He’s terribly frustrated about all the recent developments on Wall Street,” a former aide told The Buffalo News. “He feels it would have been his moment had it not been for the downfall he brought upon himself.” The aide added that “every normal person” thinks Spitzer has lost his credibility as a champion of ethical behavior, “but he still continues to think he did nothing wrong.”
