Poll watch

What percentage of Americans say they would like to lose weight? Do most Americans have a favorable view of labor unions?

Nearly 60% of Americans say they would like to lose weight, while 34% want to maintain their weight and 7% (mostly younger men) want to gain weight. While these figures have remained largely unchanged since 2001, Americans now weigh, on average, about 6 pounds more than they did seven years ago.
Gallup

Although just one in 10 Americans now belongs to a labor union, 59% hold a favorable view of unions, compared with 31% who hold an unfavorable view.
