Consumer-goods giant Unilever hired Paul Polman away from rival Nestlé to replace its CEO, Patrick Cescau. Polman was Nestlé’s chief financial officer until January, after he was passed over for Nestlé CEO; he previously worked at Unilever’s third main competitor, Procter & Gamble. “Polman is probably the best candidate in the world to become CEO,” said food industry analyst James Amoroso. “He was probably the only logical choice.” (Bloomberg)
