Wolf Kahn, one of the last surviving members of the “New York School” of abstract expressionists, moved to Vermont nearly 40 years ago. Since then, his semi-abstract paintings and pastels of the surrounding countryside have helped revitalize the landscape form. Though the German-born artist is now 80, his recent works show no loss of vitality. These new oils and watercolors exhibit exuberant brushwork in their depictions of trees, lakes, and natural light. 875 N. Michigan Ave., (312) 640-5550. Prices range from $6,000 to $150,000.
