Cynthia Greenlee

Dr. Cynthia R. Greenlee is a historian and journalist based in North Carolina. She writes about race and history in the United States, reproductive health and food (and that combination of interests makes sense to her — if no one else). She is a recipient of a 2020 James Beard Foundation Award for food writing. Dr. Greenlee is contributing editor with Scalawag magazine and Zócalo Public Square, and also the co-editor of The Echoing Ida Collection anthology (forthcoming in January 2021, Feminist Press).
