▪Kanye West is out of the hospital, but he’s not home yet. The rapper, who canceled a tour last month and checked into UCLA Medical Center after a flurry of bizarre behavior, is temporarily living apart from wife Kim Kardashian while “receiving outpatient care,” a source tells People.com. He suffered two public meltdowns in California last month, launching into onstage rants against Hillary Clinton, Beyoncé, and Jay Z, and then had an angry altercation while at the home of his personal trainer. Insiders speculate that the erratic displays may have occurred because West became deeply upset after Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint while in Paris in October, and deviated from the usual dose of prescription medications he takes for an unknown psychological condition.
▪Anthony Weiner has had to cut short his rehab for cybersex addiction because he can no longer afford it, says the New York Post. The ex-congressman, who ruined his career and marriage by sending lewd online tweets and other messages to women and lying about it, entered treatment at Tennessee’s Recovery Ranch after allegedly sexting a 15-year-old girl. “His family wanted him to stay 90 days, but he had to leave because he ran out of money,” says a source. Weiner paid $25,000 for the 35-day stint. The Democrat, who faces $65,000 in fines for improper use of campaign funds, has moved back into a Manhattan apartment he shares with estranged wife Huma Abedin—longtime aide to Hillary Clinton—and their 4-year-old son.
▪The infamous rape scene between Marlon Brando and Maria Schneider in 1972’s Last Tango in Paris was nonconsensual, director Bernardo Bertolucci admitted in a newly released interview. Bertolucci, 76, said he and the iconic actor planned the simulated rape—in which Brando’s character uses a stick of butter as a lubricant to sodomize Schneider, 19—without her knowledge. “I wanted Maria to feel... the rage and humiliation,” he explained. Evidently, she did. “Even though what Marlon was doing wasn’t real, I was crying real tears,” Schneider said before dying of cancer in 2011. “I felt a little raped, both by Marlon and by Bertolucci.’’ After that experience, she suffered from serious depression and drug problems for years.
