Anthony Scaramucci is having a really bad few weeks. Not only was he fired after 10 days as the White House communications director, he missed the birth of a son last week while attending an event with President Trump, and his wife filed for divorce. Deidre Scaramucci, 38, filed for divorce while she was nine months pregnant with the hedge fund CEO’s child because she despises Trump and was fed up with her husband’s “naked political ambition,’’ sources told the New York Post. She gave birth to their second son while Scaramucci and Trump were at the Boy Scouts Jamboree in West Virginia last week. Scaramucci, 53, who began dating Deidre, an employee at his hedge fund, after he left his first wife, didn’t see his newborn baby for four days, said sources—instead sending Deidre a text saying, “Congratulations, I’ll pray for our child.” A Scaramucci associate said before his firing that he was pursuing “a different career objective that didn’t align with Deidre’s trajectory.”
A furious George Clooney is suing a French gossip magazine for publishing photos of his and wife Amal Clooney’s 7-week-old twins—claiming the publication’s photographers “scaled our fence, climbed our tree, and illegally took pictures of our infants inside our home.” The couple welcomed a boy named Alexander and a girl, Ella, in June. Last week, Voici published grainy photos of the Clooneys cradling the babies at their villa on Italy’s Lake Como, in what the publication claimed was a world exclusive. Clooney said both the magazine and photographers “will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law” for entering his property, adding, “The safety of our children demands it.”
Two weeks after being booed at a Mets ballgame, historically unpopular New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was caught on a cellphone video aggressively confronting a heckler at Milwaukee’s Miller Park. As Christie walked by, a fan called out that he was “a hypocrite.’’ The video shows Christie leaning over and getting in the man’s face while cradling a loaded bowl of nachos—telling him, “Yeah, you’re a big shot,” before walking away. Christie’s approval rating recently dropped to 15 percent in New Jersey after he was photographed enjoying a family day at a beach he closed to the public. ■
