▪ Taylor Swift has lashed out at her critics and revived old feuds with Kanye West and Katy Perry in her new single, “Look What You Made Me Do.” Swift’s spat with West began at the 2009 MTV Music Video Awards when the rapper notoriously interrupted Swift’s acceptance splittle games / I don’t like your tilted stage [a feature of West’s performances] / The role you made me play: of the fool / No, I don’t like you.” In the video of the song, Swift also mocks Kim Kardashian’s jewelry robbery and rival Perry’s failure to win any Grammy awards. Perry avoided introducing the video at this week’s VMA awards show.
▪ A transgender woman activist last week ambushed Caitlyn Jenner at an LGBT event and castigated the Republican for voting for Donald Trump, who has banned transgender people from enlisting in the military. Activist Ashlee Marie Preston filmed her fiery encounter and shared isavowedher support of Trump after he announced the transgender ban. “What he’s doing to our community,” she said, “is absolutely awful.”
▪ Comedian Kathy Griffin says her 17-year friendship with Anderson Cooper was destroyed by the controversy over her photo of President Trump’s decapitated head, TheCut.com reports. After Griffin tweeted the photo of herself holding the fake bloody head in May, she was firezed for creating the decapitation image, but says the backlash has cost her more than $1_million worth of concert dates and endorsements.
