For scanning paper documents
▪ Google Drive is a cloud-storage service, but on an Android phone or tablet it can also scan documents, straighten the scanned image, and store it seamlessly. It even makes text searchable.
▪ Notes, the built-in iOS app, gained a scanning function with Apple’s recent iOS 11 update.
▪ Evernote Scannable is another app that can be used to turn contracts, receipts, business cards, and other paper documents into digital records. It’s for iOS only, though, and won’t provide searchable text unless you send documents to a service like Google Drive.
▪ Genius Scan comes in both Android and iOS versions. The app can straighten skewed scans and improve legibility, and it can also stitch documents together into a single file. CamScanner, which is similar, adds a searchable text feature, but doesn’t let you share files unless you pay for the monthly $5 premium plan.
