Show of the week
Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams
Move over, Black Mirror. If that Netflix series is this era’s Twilight Zone, Electric Dreams could be our Outer Limits. The stories told in the 10 episodes of the new British-American sci-fi anthology series are typically more futuristic than Black Mirror’s, plumbing the limits of human agency as it bumps up against advanced forms of artificial life. Not every episode clicks, but co-producer Bryan Cranston helped bring in some real talent, including Janelle Monáe, Steve Buscemi, and Anna Paquin. Cranston delivers a one-time guest-star appearance, too. Available for streaming Friday, Jan. 12, Amazon
