For seven-minute workouts
■ Seven by Perigee is a standout among the many apps that guide users through daily seven-minute workouts—a standard that recently became popular when its efficacy was established by science. Seven’s only drawback: It’s annoying to use if you don’t pay the monthly subscription fee.
■ Johnson & Johnson 7-Minute Workout may be the better introductory option. It’s well rounded, customizable, and “truly” free.
■ 7-Minute Workout Challenge does a particularly good job of guiding you through each training move and has both male and female instructors in its videos. You’ll want to pay $3 a month for the full-access experience.
■ 7-Minute Workout for Kids uses animations and catchy music to make exercise fun—even for grownups. “Another top choice overall,” it includes workouts with advanced moves, such as push-ups with rotation and triceps dips with a chair.
