Hotel of the week
This 91-year-old grande dame has undergone a very modern makeover, said Madeline Bilis in Boston magazine. After a $13 million renovation, the Ritz-Carlton’s 193 rooms could now belong to a chic European boutique hotel. But look closely and you’ll find plenty of local touches. Custom wall coverings in the executive suites contain handwritten fragments of Boston-born Edgar Allen Poe’s poem The Raven. And in the luxury suites Ralph Waldo Emerson’s poetic hometown tribute, Boston, has been etched into a glass light fixture above the six-person dining table.
