Browser extensions that block distractions
StayFocused lets users of Google Chrome set time limits on the use of any website. It’s a merciful solution: You can still check your Reddit or Twitter accounts regularly, but you won’t bog down in them.
OneTab, for Chrome or Firefox, helps keep you from getting lost in a sea of open browser tabs. By consolidating open tabs into a single tab, it reduces clutter on the screen and, better yet, reduces the browser’s drain on your computer’s memory.
Just Read adds a reader mode to Chrome, which otherwise lacks one. When viewing a web page, click the Just Read button and the ads, flashy formatting, comment sections, and other distractions will be replaced by a clean, text-focused layout.
Todoist makes it easy to create a simple to-do list on your screen instead of a scratch pad. It’s available as an extension for Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
