Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, co-hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, were married last week at a secret ceremony in Washington, D.C. Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), a friend of Scarborough’s dating back to his time as a Florida GOP congressman in the late 1990s, presided over an Episcopalian service at the National Archives, attended by a dozen or so family members and friends. Scarborough, 55, and Brzezinski, 51, were both married to other people when the show premiered in 2007, but developed a playful—some thought flirtatious—rapport on air. Yet they refused to acknowledge their relationship as the show became very influential in the political world, particularly in the Beltway. Of the ceremony, Brzezinski said: “We wanted it to be really small and simple and not what you expected from Mika and Joe.” Scarborough has four children from two previous marriages. Brzezinski has two daughters from a previous marriage.
For years, the National Enquirer had a policy of shelving salacious stories about President Trump, but now the tabloid’s former executive editor, Barry Levine, is writing a book about “Trump and his women,” according to the New York Post. Enquirer owner David Pecker, once a loyal ally to Trump, ordered his staff to purchase rights to unflattering stories about Trump and his family, including about Trump’s affairs. Levine left the company in 2016 after 17 years.
Hugh Hefner made sure that after his death—last year, at 91—a second casket would be buried at sea, according to The Sun (U.K.). Locked inside the specially made, cement-lined “casket” was the Playboy founder’s sexual scrapbook: hours of sex tapes and thousands of nude photographs, reportedly featuring famous men and women who cavorted at his mansion. “Hugh was terrified of the world finding out everything about his past,” a source told the British tabloid, adding that Hefner kept a “treasure chest of memories” dating from the 1950s to the mid-1990s. Hefner, an orgy enthusiast who dated multiple women at once, was spooked after seeing Pamela Anderson’s sex tapes leaked. He then assigned the Playboy Mansion’s head of security to dump his private stash into the ocean. ■
