White House communications director Bill Shine will be paid $3.5 million by Fox News this year and in 2019 as part of his severance package from the Trump-friendly network, at the same time he’s being paid to mastermind President Trump’s press strategy. Shine was forced out at Fox News after being accused in multiple lawsuits of covering up sexual harassment by Fox executives and various on-air anchors.
The global suicide rate has dropped 29 percent since 2000, apparently because of improvements in the quality of life. The U.S. suicide rate has risen 18 percent since 2000, mostly because of the decline in quality of life for white, middle-aged men without college degrees.
Donations to the Clinton Foundation plunged after Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 presidential race. The nonprofit charity, which Republicans have charged is a “pay to play” operation in which donors bought influence with the U.S. government, pulled in $62.9 million in 2016, but $26.6 million in 2017—a 58 percent drop.
