Tip of the week…
The right way to use dry shampoo
As part of a routine: Because washing your hair every day strips its natural oils, you should instead shampoo every two or three days. The off mornings are when dry shampoo comes in.
A little at a time: You don’t want a cloud of powder on your head, so if you have long hair, grab it in 4-inch horizontal sections, starting just above one ear. Spritz your scalp from about 8 inches away and keep repeating until reaching the other ear.
With a robust massage: Spread your fingers and thoroughly massage the dry shampoo into your scalp and roots so that the powders “work their magic” and absorb excess oil. The massaging not only feels nice; “it’ll give second-day hair some lift.”
And a final brushing: The brush blends in any residue. If you have long hair, preserve the volume by brushing underneath the hair from the roots to the ends.
