More than 150,000 Americans died from alcohol- and drug-induced fatalities and suicide in 2017—the highest number since the Centers for Disease Control began collecting the figures in 1999. Nearly a third of the total dead—47,173—were suicides. The New York Times

48% of Britons think the country shouldn’t have voted to leave the European Union, while 40% think the U.K. made the right choice. However, a majority of voters—83% of Leave voters and 89% of Remainers—still think their initial referendum choice was in the country’s best interest. 78% think the British government is handling negotiations with the EU poorly.
