Mick Jagger postponed the Rolling Stones’ upcoming tour in order to have heart valve replacement surgery this week in New York City. Jagger, 75, suffered a “physical injury” while preparing for the band’s nine-week tour across the U.S. and Canada, The Daily Telegraph (U.K.) reports. “A big disappointment for everyone but things need to be taken care of and we will see you soon,” bandmate Keith Richards said on Twitter. The Stones have been touring across Europe and already sold more than 1 million tickets for 17 upcoming sold-out shows in North America. Jagger, who has eight children with five women and is a great-grandfather, reportedly expects to make a full recovery. He said he will return to the stage “as soon as I can.”
Nicolas Cage filed for an annulment four days into his fourth marriage, claiming he was too drunk after a night of partying in Las Vegas last week to “understand” that he was getting hitched at the Bellagio casino. The famously eccentric actor, 55, said in court documents that his fiancée, Erika Koike, suggested they get married and he “reacted on impulse.” The annulment filing also alleges that Koike, a 35-year-old waitress at the Thai restaurant her parents own in Los Angeles, hid her criminal history from Cage, including “active” cases. Cage was previously married to Patricia Arquette, Lisa Marie Presley, and a former waitress named Alice Kim. His marriage to Presley lasted 108 days.
The New York Police Department is investigating at least two sexual assault allegations against magician David Blaine, TheDailyBeast.com reported this week. Blaine, 45, has not been charged and says he has not been contacted by police. One of the women alleges that Blaine sexually assaulted her in his Manhattan apartment in 1998. The other accuser says Blaine hypnotized her before making her perform a sex act in a hypnotic state, the New York Post reports. Blaine is best known for his tricks of endurance, such as remaining suspended in a Plexiglas case in London for 44 days in 2003. The following year, model Natasha Prince accused him of rape, but London police declined to bring charges after investigating. ■
