Fifty-five percent of teachers say they don’t teach climate change in their classrooms or talk to their students about it, with almost two-thirds of respondents saying it’s outside their subject area. More than 80 percent of U.S. parents support teaching climate change in schools.
More than 1 million Americans have lost health-insurance coverage since 2016, according to the Congressional Budget Office. The number of uninsured rose from 27.5 million in 2016 to 28.9 million in 2018. Much of the increase came from people losing Medicaid coverage in Republican-governed states, which under new Trump administration rules have imposed work requirements that make it harder to qualify for the program.
