Leaked National Rifle Association documents show that CEO Wayne LaPierre billed the organization’s ad agency for $39,000 of shopping at a Beverly Hills clothing boutique, $18,300 for a car and driver in Europe, and $40,000 for a one-way flight to the Bahamas. The NRA has also been paying $100,000 in fees to its law firm per day.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos last week unveiled his private space company’s lunar lander, Blue Moon, in Washington, D.C. He said that his space company, Blue Origin, will begin testing the lander this summer and plans to send astronauts to the moon by 2024.
More than half of mothers in 1975 stayed home with their kids. Today, both parents work in 70 percent of families with children. Meanwhile, child-care costs an average $12,350 to $13,900 a year.
About 2.5 million women are sent to jail every year. In 1983, about 9 percent of jail admissions were of women, but in 2016, that had risen to 23 percent. The increase is being driven by drug arrests and the fact that many women can’t afford bail.
