More than 50 police departments around the country have opened internal investigations after the Center for Investigative Reporting identified almost 400 law enforcement officers who were members of extremist groups on Facebook, including pages dedicated to sharing anti-black, anti-Islam, and anti-government messages. Nearly 150 officers were involved with violent far-right groups such as the Oath Keepers and Three Percenters.

Unusually warm temperatures as much as 40 degrees above normal this spring have triggered record melting of the Arctic Ocean and Greenland ice sheets. “The melting is big and early,” said Jason Box, an ice climatologist at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland.

The highly successful U.S. women’s national soccer team generated about $50.8 million in revenue—mostly from ticket sales—compared with $49.9 million for the less successful men’s national team from 2016 to 2018. In March, the 28 members of the U.S. women’s team filed a lawsuit alleging that the U.S. Soccer Federation pays them less than the men’s team.

The wholesale price of coffee has plummeted from $2.20 per pound in 2015 to a low of 86 cents this year, largely because of increased production in Brazil and in Asia. That price collapse is a major factor driving migration from Guatemala, where most coffee farmers perating at a loss since 2017.
