The Week contest
This week’s question: The average nine-inning Major League Baseball game lasted a record 3 hours, 5 minutes, 35 seconds this season, up from 2 hours, 46 minutes in 2005. Please come up with a medical term to describe the fatigue felt by fans when a baseball game creeps into the third hour.
Last week’s contest: Japan Airlines recently added a “child icon” to its online seat maps, so fliers can identify seats that will be occupied by passengers ages 2 and under. Please come up with an advertising slogan that JAL could use to appeal to fliers who want to avoid screaming infants.
THE WINNER: Avoid our frequent criers Ivan Kershner, Salem, S.C.
SECOND PLACE: Less “wah,” more “aah” Jake Miller, Camp Hill, Pa.
THIRD PLACE: You’ve got a peaceful easy seating Edward Lawrence, Nevada City, Calif.
