Nearly a third of the world’s electricity will come from renewable energy sources such as solar and wind by 2024, according to a new report from the International Energy Agency. But the agency says the 50 percent surge in growth of renewables over the next five years will still fall “well short” of the dramatic changes needed to fight climate change.
President Trump and the Republican National Committee have raised more than $300 million for his re-election so far, more than any other sitting president at this point in the campaign. Trump’s campaign and the RNC have about $158 million in cash on hand, nearly twice as much as President Obama and the DNC had at this juncture in 2011.

Qantas Airways set a record for the world’s longest nonstop commercial passenger flight after one of its Boeing 787 Dreamliners took off with 49 people from New York City and landed in Sydney 19 hours and 16 minutes later. Passengers on the 10,066-mile test flight were encouraged to dance the Macarena and participate in exercise classes to stave off jet lag.
