On Tuesday evening, militants in Gaza fired a round of rockets at Israel, Israel pulled its delegation from peace talks in Cairo, and the uneasy 10-day pause in fighting between Hamas and Israel ended with a barrage of Hamas missiles, fatal Israeli airstrikes, and mutual recriminations

Israel says that Hamas fired more than 50 rockets late Tuesday and early Wednesday, damaging a car in Tel Aviv and a building in southern Israel. Israel has conducted about 30 airstrikes on Gaza, killing at least 10 people — including women and children and, possibly, Hamas militant leader Mohammed Deif — and wounding more than 50 others, according to Palestinian health officials.
