If you loved seeing Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson bicker like an old married couple in Captain America: Civil War, you'll be excited about their buddy cop spin-off.
Disney is reportedly working on a limited TV series based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Winter Soldier and Falcon characters, Variety reports. This series would be for the Disney streaming service, which reportedly also has shows based on Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in the works.
The new show will be written by Empire's Malcolm Spellman, and Collider reports that both Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie are expected to reprise their roles as lead characters Winter Soldier and Falcon from the Marvel film franchise; both characters were last seen in Avengers: Infinity War. All of the shows in the works, including this one, will reportedly only have between six and eight episodes, so it's essentially a way for Marvel to shed light on some of the characters who did not receive full movie spin-offs but are still fan favorites. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will produce after having no real involvement in previous Marvel shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones.
No release date has been set for the new shows, but expect them sometime after the Disney streaming service launches in late 2019, well after both Bucky and Sam have been presumably brought back to life in May 2019's Avengers 4. Brendan Morrow
