Chrissy Teigen is still pretty confused about why the president of the United States decided to randomly rage-tweet about her.
Teigen opened up on Ellen after President Trump tweeted angrily Sunday about John Legend's appearance on an MSNBC's criminal justice special, suggesting he wasn't being given enough credit on the issue. But Trump decided to also throw in a swipe at Legend's "filthy mouthed wife," Teigen, despite the fact that she didn't even participate in the special.
In fact, Teigen told Ellen DeGeneres she wasn't even aware of the special's existence at all, so you can imagine her confusion when her phone randomly began blowing up after Trump lashed out at her.
"My heart stopped," Teigen said. "...I was really angry. I think my eyes filled up with water just at the shock of it."
Teigen tore into Trump that night with a brutally vulgar response, and she explains that she and Legend spent the entire evening workshopping one another's tweets. To be fair, Teigen did concede Trump's attack "wasn't that random" since she has been quite critical of Trump in the past to the point that the president actually blocked her, though she says lately, "I had been on such good behavior."
Still, Trump targets so many people on Twitter, Teigen suggested it was only a matter of time before he got to her. "We all just wait for our day to come," she said, "and mine happened to be Sunday." Brendan Morrow
