Reality can't be whatever John Delaney wants.

The former congressman is among the 2020 Democrats who won't qualify for the third presidential debate in September after the Democratic National Committee upped the requirements, only inviting candidates who met a higher polling and fundraising threshold. The result will be a field about half as large as the last two debates. For that reason, an angry Delaney is breaking out the comparisons to the Mad Titan himself.

"They effectively cut out half the field," Delaney complained of the DNC, The Washington Examiner reports. "I don't think ultimately voters want that to happen ... I think they're kind of like Thanos, snapping their finger and trying to get rid of half the field."

Delaney went on to complain that the DNC's rules are shutting out sitting governors and members of Congress, suggesting they deserve a spot on the stage despite their dismal polling; the DNC's debate requirement was only two percent in four qualifying polls, plus 130,000 individual donations.

Now, Delaney is vowing to stay in the race, presumably with Avengers: Endgame-style plans to assemble an Infinity Gauntlet and do whatever it takes to rejoin his 2020 opponents. But considering Delaney is struggling to poll above zero percent, his return to the debate stage is, unlike Thanos, far from inevitable. Brendan Morrow

Marvel will do whatever it takes to break fans' hearts over the Avengers: Infinity War ending, even nearly a year after the movie's release.

The studio on Tuesday debuted brand new character posters for Avengers: Endgame, depicting those who survived Thanos' decimation of half the universe at the end of Infinity War in color, and the many, many people who didn't survive in black and white.

In addition to the main leads, characters whose fates were not revealed at the end of Infinity War are featured, including Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie. She's in color, implying she lived and suggesting she'll appear in Endgame, something Thompson had hinted at but never officially confirmed. Happy Hogan, Pepper Potts, and Wong also get color posters.

That's the good news, but on the flip side, Black Panther's Shuri gets a black and white poster, which seemingly confirms her off-screen death. The first Endgame trailer suggested as much, with Shuri being designated missing — but then again, so was Scott Lang, even though he lived. Anyone hoping Shuri made it out unscathed just had those dreams shattered.

The tagline on the new posters is "Avenge the fallen," a reference to the heroes' efforts to undo Thanos' actions. While their success may be a foregone conclusion, one remaining question is whether Endgame will revive only the characters who died in Thanos' snap or also bring back those, like Loki, who died normal, pre-snap deaths. Loki, Gamora and Vision, who all died before the snap, got black and white posters on Tuesday, and since this places them in the same category as the snap victims, Slashfilm posits it could suggest everyone will return.

These questions won't remain unanswered for long, as with a month left to go until the film's April 26 release, we truly are in the endgame now. Brendan Morrow
