House Judiciary Chair Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) wants you to know some things about President Trump. Just let him finish his eggs first.
Nadler, whose committee is leading one of several ongoing investigations into Trump, sat down with CNBC's John Harwood for a video interview published Wednesday. He recounted his time dealing with Trump back in New York City, touched on impeachment and, between bites, compared the current commander in chief to former President Richard Nixon.
In the interview, Harwood mentioned that he'd recently talked with Bill Cohen, who was a GOP congressmember during former President Richard Nixon's administration. Cohen said "he thinks Trump deserves impeachment," and that "what we're seeing from Trump and his administration is worse than anything Nixon ever did," Harwood told Nadler, and then asked if he agreed. "Yes, I do. Nixon never —" Nadler responded, then paused to fork up some eggs — "never posed the kind of existential challenge to separation of powers and to limited government that Trump does."
Nadler went on to say that "probably we're not" headed for impeachment of Trump, though he conceded that he still wasn't sure what direction Congress was heading. Watch and read Nadler's whole interview at CNBC. Kathryn Krawczyk
