New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio's presidential campaign is likely dead on arrival. The mayor himself, however, is not.

Despite the pleas of New Yorkers, the splintering Democratic debate stage, and even his own gym, De Blasio announced his Democratic campaign for the presidency on Thursday. Yet within a few hours, someone had edited De Blasio's Wikipedia page to say he died that same day — and Google didn't pick up on the issue for a while.

Rest assured, the mayor of America's biggest city is still alive and eating pizza with a fork. He's also likely to always poll far behind the mayor of a city with a few million less people. The rodent that de Blasio dropped during a 2014 Groundhog Day celebration, on the other hand, is confirmed dead. Kathryn Krawczyk
