1. New Barney documentary to examine the 'human need to hate'

Barney the Dinosaur's Reputation era is here. Peacock has dropped a stunning trailer for its bizarre new documentary called I Love You, You Hate Me, which is about the "rise and fall of Barney the Dinosaur's furious backlash." Wait, did Barney get canceled and we completely missed it? The trailer begins with a lighthearted rendition of the Barney theme song before it warps into a nightmare version like something out of a Creepypasta, and Barney actor Bob West recalls receiving threats of "death and dismemberment of my family." Talking heads in the trailer recall there being violent backlash against Barney, with one mentioning rumors that "Barney hides drugs in his tail," and we even see footage of police cars and a man in handcuffs. Peacock says the documentary will explore this "Barney-bashing" and examine what it "says about the human need to hate." You've heard of Dark Brandon? Well, get ready for Dark Barney.

2. Mila Kunis had to wear 'children's underwear' on 'Kimmel'

Our next guest needs no introduction, but she does need some underwear. Mila Kunis stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night, and she began the interview by fessing up to an embarrassing underwear snafu. The That '70s Show star revealed she opened her prepared garment bag to get ready for the show, only to find there was "no bra, no underwear, and no socks" in it. "Why I wasn't wearing those garments either is a whole other story, which we can get into at a later time," she quipped. Making matters worse was the fact that her dress was see-through. So she ended up having to borrow a bra from her publicist, socks from her manager, and Kimmel's costume department found "children's leggings from the Children's Place that we have cut into underwear, so I am wearing children's underwear," she said. Yeah, we've had this nightmare a few times.

3. Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson were allegedly engaged when he got another woman pregnant

The Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson situation has gone from messy to far, far messier. Kardashian and Thompson secretly got engaged in February 2021, just one month before he impregnated another woman, BuzzFeed News reports. On this week's The Kardashians, Kardashian confirmed she turned down a proposal from Thompson, which BuzzFeed says happened in December 2019. But according to the report, he then proposed again in early 2021 and she accepted this time, though this was never announced. So this report says they were still engaged later that year when it was revealed that Thompson fathered a child with Maralee Nichols behind Kardashian's back after already cheating on her multiple times. They welcomed another child via surrogate in July, though he was conceived before the latest cheating revelations. Since then, Kardashian and Thompson have once again broken up — for good, one would desperately hope.

4. Elizabeth Olsen addresses 'House of the Dragon' casting rumors

Wanda see Elizabeth Olsen join the Game of Thrones universe? Hold your dragons. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the WandaVision star responded to a rumor that she's been cast in the second season of House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones prequel. "I don't know how things, like rumors like that, get started, and then people think they're legitimate," she said. A report from Giant Freakin Robot claimed she was in talks, but just to clarify, Olsen says she has "never heard of such a thing," noting it was strange to see people talk about this like it was confirmed. "Dream casting is fun, yeah, but I heard it was, like, announced though, which is weirder," she said — not that Marvel stars don't have plenty of experience lying about casting news. It would make sense, though, considering Olsen auditioned for the role of Daenerys. She's waited long enough ... get this woman a dragon!

5. The next 'Planet of the Apes' film will be 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes'

It's time to stop monkeying around and get Planet of the Apes spinning again. A new Planet of the Apes film is moving forward, and its title has been revealed: Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Hm, are we sure we don't want to go with just Kingdom of the Apes? It's described as the beginning of a "new saga" picking up "many years" after the events of 2017's War for the Planet of the Apes, so it's apparently not a complete reboot. The Maze Runner's Wes Ball is directing, and The Witcher's Freya Allan stars. Production begins next month with a 2024 release planned. Unlike the most recent Apes trilogy, this one will be released under Disney, which gained the rights after buying Fox. Presumably, Disney plans to milk this franchise for all its worth like Star Wars and the MCU, so we're expecting crossovers like Treasure Planet of the Apes and spin-offs like Dr. Zaius: A Planet of the Apes Story.
