1. Gwyneth Paltrow whispered 'I wish you well' to accuser after ski crash trial win

Bless his heart. In what was by far the most important news to break late last night, a jury found Gwyneth Paltrow not liable for a 2016 ski accident involving retired optometrist Terry Sanderson. He was suing her for $300,000, claiming she crashed into him, while she countersued for $1 and claimed he crashed into her. It was an increasingly bizarre trial that reached its low point when Sanderson seemed to suggest letting Paltrow off scot-free will lead to another Jeffrey Epstein situation. If you can believe it, the jury sided with Paltrow, awarding her the symbolic $1 to add to her monthly bone broth budget. On her way out of the courtroom, Paltrow leaned in to whisper something to Sanderson, who told reporters she said, "I wish you well," and he responded, "Thank you dear." Sanderson also admitted that suing Paltrow was "absolutely not" worth it, but at least it will surely inspire the campiest season of American Crime Story yet.

2. Pete Davidson says it's not 'that crazy' that he's dated 10 people in 12 years

There's nothing remotely interesting about Pete Davidson's dating life, according to TMZ regular Pete Davidson. On the Real Ones With Jon Berthnal podcast, the Saturday Night Live alum expressed confusion over the public's obsession with his romantic pursuits. "I'm in my 20's and I've dated people," Davidson said, per Entertainment Tonight. "And for some reason, that's very crazy and interesting to people. I don't think it's interesting." The comedian continued that "in 12 years I've dated 10 people," which is not "that crazy," but to "some people, that's very interesting." He added that "these people that I've dated, I met them at work," so it's not like he was in "anyone's DMs," and he said being "in this f--king zeitgeist" in a way that has "zero to do with" his work is a "really s--tty feeling." Spoken like a guy hoping no one finds out about the genie that granted him exactly 10 wishes.

3. Florence Pugh 'abused' herself making 'Midsommar'

It was a cruel midsommar for Florence Pugh during the making of one of her most iconic films. On the Off Menu podcast, the actress admitted she "probably most definitely abused my own self in order to get" her performance in the 2019 horror film Midsommar. "I would put myself in really s--t situations that other actors maybe don't need to do," she said. "I was just putting things in my head that were getting worse and more bleak." Pugh got so immersed in the character, in fact, that she recalled feeling "so guilty" after filming wrapped while looking down from a plane at the field where they shot the movie "because I felt like I had left her in that field in that state," almost "like I had created this person and then I just left her when I had to go and do another movie." Hopefully Pugh can make it up to Dani via an invite on Cooking With Flo.

4. Brett Goldstein didn't know what to do with his hands at the White House

He's here, he's there … but should his hands go there or there? Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein walked Jimmy Kimmel through his recent trip to the White House, which the cast visited to promote mental health awareness. "I have never been more aware of my hands than I was all day," he said. "What do you do with your hands at the White House? I didn't know how to stand. I didn't know how to sit.'" In the White House briefing room, Goldstein noted he first stood with his hands at his sides pointing straight down, as his co-star Hannah Waddingham recommended. But he quickly realized, "I look mad." So he tried putting them behind his back before settling on standing with his hands held together so he almost looked like a Secret Service agent. Getting into character to play a sport where you can't use your hands clearly took a toll.

5. Emilia Clarke is playing Ben Mendelsohn's daughter in Marvel's 'Secret Invasion'

The secret's out. A new Vanity Fair preview of Marvel's upcoming series Secret Invasion, which follows an attempted infiltration of Earth by the shapeshifting Skrulls, has revealed Emilia Clarke's formerly secret role. The Game of Thrones alum is playing a Skrull radical, who is also the daughter of Ben Mendelsohn's Captain Marvel character, Talos, according to the outlet. In fact, we already saw her in the 2019 film, just not played by Clarke. "Remember when Ben was there with his wife and daughter?" Samuel L. Jackson explained. "She's the little Skrull girl grown up. She's his daughter." Clarke was previously rumored to be playing a character from the comics named Abigail Brand, but that's seemingly not the case. Instead, her character's name is G'iah, though after the final season of Game of Thrones, it would probably be wise for everyone to hold off on naming their children that until we see where her story ends.
