An EU court ruled Wednesday that Hamas should no longer be considered a terrorist organization.
The court called for Hamas to be removed from a list of terrorist groups, saying its decision was based on "factual implications derived from the press and the internet," rather than from "acts examined."
In its charter, BBC News notes, Hamas explicitly states that it is committed to the destruction of Israel. The U.S. and Israel consider Hamas, an Islamic extremist group, a terrorist organization.
