By a 273-156 vote, the House of Representatives on Wednesday approved an amendment that would allow the federal government to train and arm Syrian rebels to fight against ISIS. The measure will be added in to a pending spending bill, which is expected to pass and go on to the Senate for a vote later this week.
The voting process was notably slow, with some lawmakers waiting until the bill had passed to cast their votes.
