all eyes on north korea
North Korea and South Korea will once again be in the same time zone
North Korea and South Korea will soon be on the same page, at least time wise.
Starting May 5, North Korea will align itself with South Korea's time zone, which is 30 minutes earlier. North Korean state media said Monday this was a "first practical step for national reconciliation and unity." During his summit last week with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un reportedly found it "painful" that there were two clocks on the wall, showing the different times in Pyongyang and Seoul.
North Korea created its own time zone in 2015 in honor of the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japanese rule after World War II, Reuters reports.
