Once in power, House Democrats will reportedly demand Trump's tax returns

With Democrats projected to retake the House of Representatives, the ranking member of the House Ways and Means Committee, Rep. Richard Neal (D-Mass.), plans to request President Trump's tax returns, MSNBC's Ari Melber reports.
Should Democrats take control of the House, Neal will become the committee's chair, and will make the formal request, a Democratic committee source said. Melber reports that under federal law, the chair of the Ways and Means Committee has the power to request anyone's tax returns, without a Senate or full House vote. The returns would not become public.
