On Saturday afternoon, actor Paul Walker — best known for his leading role in Universal's Fast and Furious franchise — died in a car accident in Santa Clarita, California. He was 40 years old.
Shortly after TMZ posted a story reporting Walker's death on Saturday night, the actor's PR team confirmed the sad news using Facebook and Twitter:

It's unclear how Walker's death will affect the future of the Fast & Furious franchise. Walker was in the process of filming Fast & Furious 7, which is currently slated for release in July 2014.
