A first haircut at 14

In honor of his Cherokee heritage, Jerry Brown of Pasco County, Fla., had never had a haircut in all his 14 years—until last month. “I saw some patients that are cancer patients with no hair and I wanted to give them hair so they can live normal lives,” he said. He had 23 inches of his hair lopped off and donated it to Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization that provides hairpieces to children and teenagers who experience long-term medical hair loss. “That’s just the kind of kid he is,” said his father, Jerry Brown Sr. “If he can help somebody, he does.”
