After 95 years of prohibition, the notorious liqueur absinthe is being sold legally in the U.S. again. And although the fabled hallucinogenic properties of absinthe are just fables, they still serve as a marketing draw for the drink. “The number of times I’ve heard people say, ‘Oh, my God, I feel so loopy. I’m starting to trip’ after having any amount of absinthe or pastis, it’s ridiculous,” says Jeff Hollinger of San Francisco’s Absinthe Brasserie & Bar. (USA Today)
