Chris Borland on retirement: 'Football is inherently dangerous and that will never change'

Former NFL player Chris Borland on Sunday said his decision to retire after only one pro season was a "simple" one made after doing extensive research into the sport's link to debilitating neurological diseases.

Though an increased awareness of that threat has led to improvements in player safety, "football is inherently dangerous and that will never change," Borland said in an interview with CBS' Face the Nation.
