Daily Show episode canceled as Trevor Noah gets emergency surgery

Don't be surprised if you've seen tonight's Daily Show before: On Wednesday morning, host Trevor Noah, 31, had to undergo an emergency appendectomy, which resulted in him missing the broadcast. The network will be airing a rerun this evening instead.

"We're happy to report the procedure went well and he is currently recuperating from the surgery," Comedy Central said of Noah's health in a tweet. Appendectomies, or the removal of the appendix, are performed normally as an emergency surgery when a patient is suffering from acute appendicitis.
