Alabama beats Clemson 45-40 to win national title

On Monday night, Alabama defeated Clemson, 45-40, to win the College Football Playoff national championship.

O.J. Howard, a tight end for the Crimson Tide, had two touchdowns and 208 yards receiving, and Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry ran in three touchdowns. Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson passed for 405 yards, with four touchdown throws. The No. 2 Crimson Tide came into the game 13-1, and the No. 1 Clemson Tigers had a 14-0 record. This is Alabama's fourth national title in seven years.
