Roseanne Barr apologizes for overtly racist tweet, says she is 'now leaving Twitter'

Roseanne Barr announced she was "leaving Twitter" on Tuesday after she faced backlash over a racist and Islamophobic tweet about former President Barack Obama's adviser, Valerie Jarrett. "I apologize. I am now leaving Twitter," she said after having defended the tweet in another conversation as a "joke."

After announcing her departure from Twitter, Barr added:
