Suspected cop killer Eric Frein captured in Pennsylvania
Eric Matthew Frein, the man suspected of killing a Pennsylvania state trooper and wounding another during a shooting Sept. 12, is in custody.
Pennsylvania State Police spokeswoman Connie Devens confirmed that Frein was arrested Thursday, but did not share any additional information. A federal law enforcement source tells CNN that Frein, 31, was captured without incident at an airport in the Poconos in Pennsylvania. Another source said Frein was armed, and one weapon was recovered from the airport.
Frein was one of the FBI's 10 Most Wanted fugitives, and the search to find him cost several million dollars, CNN says. Police said they did not have a motive, but Frein had talked and written about hating law enforcement. The shooting took place outside of the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Blooming Grove, killing Cpl. Bryon Dickson and wounding Trooper Alex T. Douglass.
